If you have been here for any time at all you know I love orange flavored recipes, such as Copycat Orange Julius Drink, Orange Dreamsicle Salad, and Orange Flavored Marshmallow Fruit Dip.

As you can see it was only a matter of time before I pumped out an orange popsicle or a treat with ice cream in it.

While you may think of orange soda floats as a single serve recipe, these are actually pretty awesome to serve at parties. You can even host your own float bar! Be sure to read until the end, because there’s more about that later.

How To Make the Best Orange Float

Serve with your favorite toppings, spoon, and a colorful paper straw. Simple, right?!

Float Variations

Here are more ideas for other kinds of floats – just swap out the orange soda.

  • Root beer float
  • Coke Float
  • Dr. Pepper Floats

If you want your float a little boozy, we won’t mind as long as you’re over 21. Many people make floats with spritzers, flavored vodkas or champagne.

Hosting a Float Party

Back to the idea of having a float party. Simply set out your sodas (use a variety for more options). Don’t forget your paper straws, because they add a festive touch.

To keep your ice cream cold, place it in an ice bucket. You can also add ice cream salt to the ice to keep it super cold.

Place the toppings in individual bowls so your guests can choose their favorite.

This is actually an easy and budget friendly party that is great for kids and adults. Not to mention everyone loves the idea of a DIY bar setup.
