Today we are going to show you how to make salami roses. These beautiful meat roses are a fun addition to any charcuterie board.

Since charcuterie started trending over the past couple of years, grazing boards are growing into edible works of art. Even though they make a beautiful party centerpiece, we love to create smaller versions for weekend snacks and brunches.

But for holidays, we like to go all out! For our Thanksgiving charcuterie board, we added a wheel of Brie with the cutest turkey cutout and paired it with other seasonal goodies.

During the fall and Halloween season, we decided to create a dessert board filled with chocolate-dipped pretzels, spooky chocolate covered strawberries, and other festive candies.

These roses were a viral TikTok recipe, and I must say I am pretty impressed with how easy they are to put together. Some of my other favorites from TikTok are Dalgona Cocoa, Feta Tomato Pasta, and Mini Pancake Cereal.

Use your hand to cover the folds and hold the salami in place. Gently turn the glass over onto the charcuterie board or serving platter.

Carefully lift the glass up to reveal your beautiful salami rose. Make additional meat roses and fill in the board with other ingredients.

Expert Tips for Making and FAQ

  • Chilled meat works the best, so keep it refrigerated until you are ready to make charcuterie roses.
  • You can use any cold cut that is a circle shape. If it’s not a circle, it won’t work as well.
  • Other meats that we love using are ham, turkey, Canadian bacon and pepperoni.
  • These meat roses are a little large, so when you’re creating the grazing board, we recommend placing them and other large items first. Then fill in the empty areas with the smaller ingredients such as grapes, berries, olives and nuts.
  • In case you are wondering, as the slices are eaten the salami roses will still keep their shape.
Can you make salami roses ahead of time?

Yes. Instead of flipping them over onto a serving board place them in a container or wrap them in aluminum foil and keep them refrigerated until you are ready to serve.

How do you make small salami roses?

Use smaller pieces of salami. You can use a small cookie cutter or cut around the rim of the champagne flutes to make smaller circles. If you choose to do this, just know you’ll have some wasted salami.

How do you keep salami roses from falling apart?

As long as you press them down firmly on the glass when layering they should keep their shape.

How to Serve Salami Roses

Select a cheeseboard or serving tray or you can use parchment paper or butcher paper on the counter or table. Place the charcuterie meat roses first, then fill in with other ingredients like crackers, olives, grapes, cheese, and nuts.

These meat roses are a fun addition to a charcuterie bouquet, charcuterie pinata ball or a patriotic snack board.
