Crockpot Taco Meat

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces water
  • 2 packets taco seasoning


  • Place ground beef in crockpot.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Place lid on crockpot and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  • For best results, stir to break up the meat every 1-2 hours (I use this tool when cooking ground meats).
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.


  • If you use 93% or 97% ground beef you shouldn't need to drain any grease.
  • Use a crockpot liner for easy cleanup.
  • The cooked meat can be frozen. Place in zipper-top bags, label & date and store in the freezer for up to 2 months.
