Trim the chicken pieces and place in the crockpot.
3-4 chicken breasts
Sprinkle taco seasoning over the chicken.
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
Pour the salsa over the chicken, covering evenly.
2 cups salsa
Cook on High for 3-4 hours or Low for 7-8 hours. The chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165℉ (use a meat thermometer to check the temperature).
Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred or dice. Return the chicken to the salsa mixture until you're ready to serve.
Notes
Regular or chunky salsa can be used.
Use a disposable crockpot liner for easy cleanup.
Recipe can be doubled or tripled if your crockpot is large enough.
Leftover storage: after the meat has cooled place it in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To freeze: transfer cooled meat in a freezer container or freezer bag and store in the freezer for up to 2 months.
