Our Grinch-themed snack mix is a fun, green twist on your favorite salty sweet Chex snack. Easy to make, it's perfect for holiday parties and Christmas movie nights.
Melt the chocolate in a small microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute. Stir and continue heating in 10-20 seconds intervals until the chocolate is almost melted, stirring after each heating cycle. Remove from the microwave and stir until it’s completely smooth.
Pour melted chocolate over the cereal and gently toss to evenly coat. Transfer the cereal mixture into a large resealable bag.
Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag and shake it to completely coat the cereal. Set the bag aside.
Grinch Pretzels
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees F.
Lay pretzels flat on a large rimmed baking sheet. Top each pretzel with 1 candy melt.
Bake for 4-5 minutes or until the chocolate becomes shiny.
Remove the tray from the oven and immediately add 1 heart sprinkle to the center.
Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before adding it to the snack mix.
Snack Mix
Place puppy chow in a very large serving bowl or a large baking sheet.
Top with the Grinch pretzels and green candies and gently stir to combine.
Notes
If you can't find green candy melts, use white ones with a bit of green food coloring.
Cool mix completely before storing in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. The mix will keep for 5 days when stored properly.
Package the snack mix in cello bags tied with ribbons for class treats, hostess gifts or a fun gift from the kitchen.
