We’ve transformed the traditional cheeseburger into a tasty bite and it’s a slightly healthier version compared to a regular burger. We say “slightly healthier” because we aren’t using buns and they’re air-fried, which cuts down on the grease.

But whatever you do, don’t skip the sauce! It’s amazing, reminds me of Big Mac sauce from McDonald’s and it really brings all of the flavors together. If you’re looking for another hearty snack, try out air fryer chicken taquitos or air fried buffalo chicken tenders.

If you like egg rolls…

ingredients needed to make Air Fryer Cheeseburger Egg rolls

Ingredients Needed for Air Fryer Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

Ground beef – I like to use a lean variety to cut down on the grease. You can also substitute ground turkey if preferred.

Bacon – if you don’t feel like frying bacon, use the real bacon bits from the salad section or get the pre-cooked kind you warm up in the microwave.

Onion

Spices: paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, parsley

Apple cider vinegar

Worcestershire sauce

Cheese – we like American cheese from the deli, but you can use your favorite.

Egg roll wrappers

Sesame seeds

Cheeseburger Egg Roll Dipping Sauce Ingredients:

Ketchup

Mayonnaise

Dill pickles – you can also use dill relish if you have it

Black pepper

How to Make Cheeseburger Egg Rolls in the Air Fryer

Brown the ground beef, onions, and seasonings over medium-high heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain off the grease.

browning ground beef and onions in a large skillet and adding seasonings

Stir in Worcestershire sauce and vinegar.

Lay an egg roll wrapper in front of you so it’s turned in the shape of a diamond. Add two spoonfuls of meat to the center. Top with bacon and cheese.

Dip your finger in a little water and wet the edges of the wrapper. Fold in the right and left corners towards the center. Then bring up the bottom and roll, gently squeezing out air as you go. Lightly wet the corner that’s showing so it seals closed. Repeat until all egg rolls are made.

Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees F. Place a parchment paper liner in the preheated basket, then add the egg rolls leaving room for air to circulate between each one. Spritz rolls with a little oil.

Cook for 10 minutes, flipping each one and misting with oil at the halfway point.

In the meantime make the sauce by combining all of the sauce ingredients in a small bowl. You can leave it out or set it in the fridge until you are ready to serve.

Garnish the cooked cheeseburger rolls with sesame seeds if desired. Remove egg rolls from the air fryer with tongs and allow them to cool for several minutes before serving.

Tips for Making

  • Substitute 1 teaspoon Montreal Steak Seasoning for the salt & pepper in the meat mixture.
  • Double the amount of cheese or swap for your favorite cheese if desired.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled but you’ll need to cook in batches.
  • You can also use spring roll wrappers if you prefer. You’ll want to keep an eye on the cooking time since these wrappers are thinner than egg roll wrappers.
  • To make this meal even more weeknight friendly, cook the ground beef mixture over the weekend. Store the cooked meat in the refrigerator until you’re ready to make the egg rolls. All that’s left is to reheat the meat, roll up the egg rolls and cook them. Easy peasy!

How to Store

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. They will lose their crispiness over time.

To reheat air fry for 2-3 minutes at 350 degrees F.

To freeze: make egg rolls as directed, up to the point of cooking. Place uncooked, filled egg rolls on a baking tray and flash freeze for 1 hour. Transfer egg rolls to a freezer container or ziptop bag and store in the freezer for up to 1 month.

To cook frozen egg rolls: allow to thaw overnight in the refrigerator and cook as directed.
