Sometimes hosting parties and game days can get stressful! It can take a lot of planning and cooking, especially if you’re providing a full meal.

That’s why I like sticking to easy dishes. Not only are these baked pretzels delicious, you can easily double or triple the recipe depending on how many people you’re serving.

While we usually go with a killer taco bar, there are a few occasions where we serve party snacks and appetizers in place of a regular meal. This includes finger foods, festive charcuterie creations, and delicious Philly cheesesteak sliders

And if you happen to have any leftovers, these seasoned pretzels make great snacks for the lunch box. And they’re way better than store bought pretzels.

Transfer the pretzels to a parchment lined baking sheet, and cook for 45 minutes.

Remove and cool slightly before serving.

Tips for Making

  • For Ranch lovers, add an additional packet of seasoning for more flavor.
  • We use unsalted butter with this recipe because the pretzels are salty.
  • Other pretzel shapes, like sticks or braids, can be used. Just maintain the same quantities and measurements.
  • When folding in the pretzels, do so gently. If you’re too aggressive they’ll break apart and you’ll be left with a bunch of little pretzel pieces.
  • While you don’t have to spread the pretzels in a single layer for baking, they will cook quicker. We piled them high on the pan so it took a little longer to bake. For larger pans and those in a single layer, you can reduce the cook time to 30 minutes.

How to Store

Seasoned ranch pretzels are a great option for a make ahead snack idea because they store so well. Keep the cooled baked pretzels in an airtight container or a bag on the counter for 1-2 weeks. But I bet they won’t last that long!

Seasoning Variations

Feel free to change up the flavors! These are some of the most popular options:

Spicy – add a dash or two of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix before stirring in the pretzels.

Garlic salt – this seasoning adds more flavor, but the pretzels may end up a little saltier too.

Honey mustard – mix a couple of tablespoons of honey, with dijon or yellow mustard, and a little dry mustard.

Parmesan – follow the recipe and add grated parmesan cheese. You can leave out the ranch if preferred.

Cinnamon sugar – for a sweet version, use up to a ½ cup of granulated sugar and a tablespoon or 2 of cinnamon, along with the butter.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
  • Melt the butter on the stovetop or in the microwave. Transfer melted butter to a large bowl.
  • Place pretzels in the bowl and gently fold them into the butter until they are fully coated.
  • Sprinkle the Ranch mix over the pretzels and fold again until they are coated in the seasoning.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes (see note below).
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Add a second packet of Ranch seasoning mix for a bolder Ranch flavor.
  • Substitute other mini pretzel styles – just use the same quantity called for in the recipe.
  • Pretzels don’t need to bake in a single layer so it’s OK to pile them onto the baking sheet. I used a smaller baking sheet so the cook time was a little longer.
  • If your baking sheet is larger and the pretzels are spread out or in a single layer, reduce the baking time to about 30 minutes.
  • Store cooled pretzels in an airtight container or ziptop bag on the counter for 1-2 weeks.
